Our head coach: Jonathan Wood

Jonathan is backed by the highest level of qualifications, experience and background. He completed his Swim South Africa Learn to Swim and his Swim SA level 1 qualifications. He then proceeded to do further qualifications through ASCA (American Swimming Coaches Association). He is strongly affiliated to SSA, with his mother, Cathy Wood, currently being the only SSA facilitator and adjudicator for the TodSwim infant water safety programme.
Jonathan’s experience includes 7 years of international coaching in the UK. He played both water polo and hockey at provincial level, and currently still plays recreational water polo and masters hockey. He has extensive school-level coaching, including: • Taught hockey and swimming at Assumption convent • Coaching swimming at King David Victory Park • Coaching swimming at Pridwin

Assistant coach: Brandon Stringer

Brandon Stringer has specialised in school sports for the past 10 years. His passion for nurturing and developing young children to their full potential is contagious and empowers learners to perform at their best. Brandon has already established himself as Ridgewood College’s much loved sports coach. He will be expanding his swim coaching portfolio under the close mentorship of Jonathan, along with the highly specialised training done through Swim South Africa that is expected of all Little Fishes affiliated swim coaches.
